Market vs Limit execution
Choose how followers enter: market orders that always fill but can slip, or exact limit and stop prices that may not, and where to change it.
Updated
The Execution Mode setting controls how your followers get into a trade: as market orders that always fill, or as mirrors of the leader's exact limit and stop prices. It's one global choice that applies to all of your copying.
| Market (default) | Limit | |
|---|---|---|
| Follower enters with | A market order when the leader fills | A copy of the leader’s pending limit / stop order |
| Fill price | Best available, small slippage | The leader’s exact price |
| Do followers always fill? | Yes | Only if their price is reached |
| Best when | You care most about staying in sync | You care most about exact entry prices |
Market mode
In Market mode, OmenSyncer waits for your leader to actually fill, then sends each follower a market order to match. Followers always get in and out, because a market order fills at whatever price is available. The trade-off is a little slippage: a follower may fill a tick or two away from the leader. This is the default and what most copiers want. Keeping every account on the same trade matters more than shaving a tick.
Limit mode
In Limit mode, OmenSyncer mirrors the leader's pending limit and stop orders onto each follower at the exact same prices, before the leader fills. When the leader's order fills, each follower's mirrored order fills on its own book at that price, and the broker manages the take profit and stop loss.
The catch is in the name: a limit order only fills at its price or better. If the market touches the leader's price but a follower's order is a fraction behind in the queue, that follower can miss the fill and end up out of sync. Limit mode buys you precise entries at the cost of that risk.
Where to change it
Execution Mode lives in your trading settings as a Market / Limit toggle. It's a global setting: it applies to every follower and group at once, not per account. See How copying works for how a fill flows through to your followers.
