How copying works
How a leader fill becomes an order on every follower, how that order is sized, what keeps followers in line, and what is left to your broker.
Updated
When your leader account fills an order, OmenSyncer sends the same trade to every follower in real time, sized to each account. In practice: when you trade, your followers trade the same thing within milliseconds — typically under 50 ms of engine time, plus however long your broker takes to acknowledge the order.
How the order is sized
Each follower is sized off its own multiplier, so different accounts can trade different sizes from the same leader trade.
| Multiplier | Result |
|---|---|
| 1 | Copies the leader at the same size. |
| 2 | Doubles the leader’s size. |
| 5 | Five times the leader’s size. |
You can instead set a fixed size on a follower, an exact number of mini or micro contracts, which overrides the multiplier. See Followers & multipliers. If a follower is on a different broker than your leader, OmenSyncer copies the equivalent contract and scales the count so your risk lines up; see Cross-broker & cross-pair copying.
What keeps followers in line
After entry, Follower Protection keeps followers matched to the leader: when the leader flattens a symbol, followers are flattened too, so you're never left holding a position the leader has already exited.
What OmenSyncer does not control
OmenSyncer sends the orders, but your broker fills them. The exact fill price, any slippage, and whether an order is accepted or rejected are down to the broker and the market at that instant. See What OmenSyncer controls vs your broker and why a follower can fill at a different price.
