Breakeven & auto breakeven

Move stops to entry by hand or automatically once a trade is up a chosen amount, and what moving a stop to breakeven does not promise.

Updated August 4, 2026

Breakeven moves a trade's stop loss to its entry price, so the trade can no longer turn into a loss. You can do it for one account, for a whole group, for everything at once - or automatically, once a trade is up an amount you choose.

The buttons

ControlWhereWhat it does
BEDashboard row, or the account card on a phone (with a position open)Press and hold: moves that account’s stop to its entry price. If it has no stop, one is placed at entry.
BE GroupA group leader’s row or cardPress and hold: breakeven for the leader and every follower in the group, each account at its own entry price.
BE AllDashboard toolbarBreakeven for every account that has an open position.

On a phone the shield sits on the account card itself, beside Flatten, so you can protect several accounts without opening each one. Its colour is the scope: grey for that account, the group's colour for a group, gold for the leader's own set. Tapping the card anywhere below those buttons still opens the account.

Every account is treated on its own numbers: a follower whose fill was a tick worse than the leader's ends up at its entry, not the leader's. A stop that already sits at or better than entry is left exactly where it is - breakeven never moves a stop backwards.

Auto breakeven

On the Risk Management page, each account has an Auto BE setting. Pick a trigger and the engine does the click for you the moment the trade gets there:

ModeFires when
$The position is up that many dollars of open profit.

A points trigger used to be offered and was withdrawn: it worked off the contract's tick size, which isn't on file for every symbol, so on those it would quietly never fire. The dollar trigger fails the other way - if we don't know a contract's dollar-per-point value, nothing moves and nothing is guessed.

Set it on a leader and one trigger protects the whole group: when it fires, the leader and every follower each get their stop moved to their own entry. While a leader's Auto BE is on, its followers show via leader - their own settings pause and resume automatically if the leader turns theirs off.

It fires once per trade. If you add contracts afterwards, the trigger re-arms - the new size is new risk, and your average entry moved with it.

Note
Breakeven only ever moves a stop once we can see the trade is actually in profit - moving it otherwise would close the position at market. We read that from the prices your own accounts trade at, so both the manual buttons and the automatic trigger work off market activity: if nothing has traded on your accounts for a while, breakeven will tell you it could not confirm the price rather than guess. The automatic trigger is checked every time your accounts trade, so on a quiet position it can fire a little later than the exact moment your target is hit.

What breakeven does not promise

A stop at entry doesn't guarantee a fill at entry - in a fast market or a gap, a stop can fill a few ticks past its price, and fees are always yours. Breakeven removes the bulk of the risk; it is not a physical floor.

It's also a one-time move, not a lock: you (or the leader you copy) stay in control of the stop afterwards. If the leader drags their stop somewhere else later, followers mirror it as usual - see Brackets, TP/SL & OCO.
